The project is being implemented in the framework of a program "Modernizing the Education System in Azerbaijan through the involvement of Civil Society and the Introduction of Inclusive Education” funded by the EU.

The overall objective of the Action is to improve teaching capacity and management, pedagogical resources and policies for an inclusive education system in select regions of Azerbaijan. The focus regions of the Action are Sheki, Agjabedi, Guba, Shamakhi, Jalilabad and Baku.

More than 1000 primary school teachers, 400 university teachers, more than 2000 university students, as well as 250 school principals will benefit from the activities within the project.

- Develop and modernize teacher training curricula, textbooks, courses and educational materials;
- Improve skills and knowledge of primary education teachers and other professions in support of children with disabilities;
- Ensure resource availability for primary education teachers and other support staff;
- Improve enabling environment, legal framework and policies for the Inclusive Education system.
