EU4Gender Equality Reform Helpdesk (Phase II)
Project Description
The EU4Gender Equality Reform Helpdesk project (Phase II), funded by the European Union and implemented by NIRAS, works to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Eastern Neighbourhood region by supporting gender mainstreaming in the planning and implementation of reforms, policies, and legislative work across six countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus*, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. The Helpdesk provides expert advice, capacity building, knowledge products, and support for enhanced cooperation between governments, civil society and EU institutions to facilitate gender-sensitive reforms. In these ways, the EU4Gender Equality Reform Helpdesk strengthens the ability of public institutions to integrate gender perspectives into public policies and reforms, in addition to empowering women’s rights and other civil society organisations to engage in evidence-based dialogue with governments on advancing gender equality.
*Note: With regard to Belarus, the EU4Gender Equality Reform Helpdesk only provides support to Belarusian civil society organisations.
