Support further development of Alternative Dispute Resolution services and Specialized Courts in Azerbaijan

Project Description
The overall objective of the Project is to improve access to justice for citizens and business through assistance in delivering of improved services across the judicial system. The Project mainly aims to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the commercial and administrative judiciary, to strengthen training capacity of the Justice Academy in the relevant field, to support the implementation of the mediation and to promote arbitration.
Specific Objective
- To strengthen the functional qualities of the newly established commercial and administrative judiciary by raising institutional and legal capacities of courts, improving legal proceedings and quality of judgments in line with the best European and international practices as well as enhancing professional capacities of judges and legal personnel of courts;
- To enhance the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms, such as mediation and arbitration.
Expected Results
The results to be achieved within this Project are improving of the legal frameworks of commercial and administrative judiciaries, enhancing training capacity of the Justice Academy in these directions and strengthening professional capacities of judges and legal personnel of specialized courts. Further, enhancing mediation institution and promotion of arbitration and cooperation with the UNCITRAL are also expected to be achieved.
