In the past, Shafaq was a beneficiary of the EU funded project implemented in Sheki-Zagatala region. With the support of the project she was employed at a beauty salon and as a result of her newfound financial independence, Shafag rented a new beauty salon naming it “Ay Studio.” She has expanded the range of her beauty services by borrowing the necessary equipment and has helped the beneficiaries of another EU project to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. At the request of the project, she accommodated Turkan and Mahabbat in her salon and guided them. The project provided both beneficiaries with furniture, sofas, mirrors, manicure and pedicure sets. The two women, who previously provided make-up, hair, manicure and pedicure services, from home, had a number of clients that did not exceed 5-10 people per month. After one year of cooperating with Shafaq, the number of their daily clients reached 6-8 people per day. All three women support each other by providing services to each other’s clients. They intend to create business clusters in the future by developing their business skills and receiving the necessary training.
