Strengthening surveillance and bilateral coordination capacity along the common border between Belarus and Ukraine (SURCAP Phase II)

Project Description
The Project contributes to the overall increased operational efficiency of the Belarusian and Ukrainian border services in central and western areas of the countries' joint frontier. SURCAP II will include training activities as well as large-scale procurement of specialized surveillance equipment for the border guards of Belarus and Ukraine.

Specific Objective
- To raise the level of security at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border through efficient interaction between the border services of both countries.
- To provide training for their personnel in state-of-the art border protection technology.
- To establish regular and prompt exchange of information.
Expected Results
- To help to develop the qualifications of border guards deployed at the land and river border sections, at international crossing points, as well as that of senior officers of the Chief Border Troops Headquarters of Belarus and Ukraine.

- To arrange visits to EU countries for them, putting a special emphasis during the visits on combating irregular migration, border control at checkpoints and international airports.
