The European Union announced 2023-2024 as the European Year of Skills, which aims to give a fresh impetus to lifelong learning, empowering people and companies to contribute to the green and digital transitions, supporting innovation and competitiveness. On this occasion the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan announced the start of a campaign under the slogan “Get the right skills”. 

“The European Union and Azerbaijan have strong partnership in many fields related to human development like education and vocational training,” said Peter Michalko, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan. “In the age of green and digital transitions, it is important to open new opportunities for people and the economy, as well as to help people to get better access to a changing labour market. Through this campaign we want to remind that it is never late to get right skills for better jobs and better salaries.” the EU Ambassador added.

EU Youth Competition 2024

On Saturday, 2 March 2022, the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan, in cooperation with Young European Ambassadors (YEA), conducted the third edition of the European Intellectual Competition (EIC) in Baku, dedicated to the European Year of Skills and implemented as part of the local EU funded “Get the Right Skills” campaign.

The EU Delegation held “Talent Acquisition and Skills for the 21st Century” training

The Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan organised the second in a series of workshops as part of the “Get the right skills” campaign. The “Talent Acquisition and Skills for the 21st Century” training workshop featuring the founder and director of the Azerbaijan HR Institute Emil Huseynov took place at the Landmark Rotunda on Saturday 20 April, providing young people with insights into navigating future job markets and upgrading their skills.

The EU Delegation presents “Where does a startup start?” training

The Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan organised the third in a series of workshops as part of the “Get the right skills” campaign. The “Where does a startup start” training workshop was aimed at people who may have a business idea but don’t know where to start. The workshop featured experts from the field and took place at the Landmark Hotel level 22 from 15:00-17:00 on Friday 26 April, providing young people with inspiration and tools to develop their business ideas.

The EU Delegation conducts “Jobs of the Future and Future Skills” workshop

The Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan organised the final in a series of workshops as part of the “Get the right skills” campaign. The “Jobs of the Future and Future Skills” workshop brought together young people and EU Member States to look at the skills needed for future job markets. The workshop took place on 13 June, providing young people with motivation and an opportunity to network.
