Workshop within “Strengthening capacities for quality assurance and credit transfer in Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Azerbaijan” Project
On May 12, a workshop on “Credit accumulation and transfer system in VET” was held within “Strengthening capacities for quality assurance and credit transfer in Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Azerbaijan” project. The Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by consortium led by the “IBF International Consulting” and the beneficiary of the project is the State Agency on Vocational Education.
The aim of the workshop was to present an analysis of the current situation in credit system applied in the educational system of Azerbaijan, discuss best practices of European countries on the credit system and possible future steps for improvement of the credit system in vocational education.
Acting Director and Deputy Director of the State Agency on Vocational Education Jeyhun Karamov made a welcome speech and gave information about transition to the credit transfer system in Vocational Education. Project Manager Rza Zulfugarzade from the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan informed about the EU support to Vocational Education and improvement of the credit system in VET.
Team Leader of the project Ilkin Nazarov presented the general information about the project, its objectives and activity plan. International expert on credit system in VET Stephan John made a presentation about current situation of the credit system applied in vocational education in Azerbaijan, credit accumulation and transfer, best practices of European countries on the credit system and suggested recommendations. Then the workshop continued in question-answer and discussions format.
The participants of the workshop were employees from related departments of the State Agency on Vocational Education, representatives of vocational education institutions, universities, Institute of Education, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, State Employment Agency and employers.
This project is implemented under the Financing Agreement (Education for Employment in Azerbaijan) between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union. “Education for Employment in Azerbaijan” (ENI/2018/041-537) Annual Action Programme 2018 is financed under European Neighbourhood Instrument. The objective of the project is to facilitate the strengthening human capital in Azerbaijan by enhancing the quality of vocational education and training through improving quality assurance framework and the credit transfer system in VET for the State Agency on Vocational Education.
