Presidents of European Council and Azerbaijan discussed bilateral relations

On 17 June, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel shared on his Twitter page that he spoke to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on EU-Azerbaijan bilateral relations and on the Eastern Partnership.
‘We will focus on the strategic importance of partnership with the region, how to strengthen our cooperation and our response to COVID-19,’ President Michel wrote.
The call took place one day before a video conference of Eastern Partnership leaders on 18 June, where they reiterated and confirmed the strategic importance of the Eastern Partnership initiative.
