EU Green Future Competition 2025

On Friday, 31 January 2025, the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan, conducted the fourth edition of the European Youth Competition in Baku, under the title of “EU Green Future” and implemented as part of the EU funded “For Our Planet” campaign.

This competition united aspiring talents, ranging from high school to university students across Azerbaijan. The competition emphasized pitching innovative business solutions to address sustainability challenges, fostering teamwork while cultivating a business-oriented mindset and a commitment to sustainable action.

In his welcome speech, H.E. Mr. Peter Michalko, the EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, stated: “As a global frontrunner on renewable energy and green policies, the EU is dedicated to supporting the ideas of Azerbaijani youth. We are excited to learn from young people today, and discover their valuable solutions for real life sustainability challenges that surround us. It is clear to me that the innovation within these teams gives us great hope for the future of Azerbaijan and the planet. I congratulate all the teams for their hard work and brilliant ideas.”

A total of 128 teams, representing 512 individuals from Agdash, Baku, Ismayilli, Khankendi, Shamkir and Lankaran, participated in the EU Green Future Competition. Four teams, each consisting of 4 participants, were selected to take part in the final competition.

The jury assessed all the finalists and decided on the winning team. As a result, the “Times New Roman” team was awarded first place in the competition, followed by “Green Innovators” team in second place, then and “Sustainable Synergy” team in third place and “Voyage” team in fourth place. The EU Ambassador awarded all finalists of the competition with certificates and various gifts.
