Azerbaijan nominates finalists for green business competition ClimateLaunchpad

Azerbaijan has announced the start-ups that will represent the country in the grand finals of the world’s largest competition for green business projects ClimateLaunchpad. The start-ups were selected by a jury among 10 candidates at the national finals, hosted by Social Innovation Lab.
The first place winner, Click Energy, presented an energy-generating keyboard. The wireless keyboard can power the screen of any laptop and save excess energy for alternative uses. The start-up that won second place, Escanergy, presented a unique alternative energy source designed to generate energy from public escalators. The third place winner, Smart Artesians, presented a product that is designed to detect the origins of defects at an early stage, reducing repair costs.
This year, ClimateLaunchpad will take place from 30 September to 2 October. The international competition is organised with financial support from the Green for Growth Fund and is co-financed by the EU initiative ‘EU4Energy’.
