Online awareness raising seminar was held within the “Strengthening Accreditation of Research Institutions and Quality Assurance process at doctoral studies level in Azerbaijan“ project

On April 8, 2022, online awareness raising seminar on activities carried out by the project for accreditation of scientific institutions (organizations) was held within the “Strengthening Accreditation of Research Institutions and Quality Assurance process at doctoral studies level in Azerbaijan” project funded by the European Union the main beneficiary of which is the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project is implemented by a consortium led by IBF International Consulting.

The aim of the project is to establish a process of internal and external quality assurance of doctoral studies level according to the best European practices and to organize the application of new mechanisms for accreditation of research institutions. This aim includes the development of rules for quality assurance and accreditation, capacity building and digitization of the accreditation process.

The online event was chaired by Mr. Famil Mustafayev, the Chairman of the Supreme Attestation Commission, and managers of close to 100 scientific institutions participated in the event. Mr. Mustafayev informed the participants about challenges in accreditation of scientific institutions and activities carried out by the project team. After the Chairman, senior expert of the project, Mr. Achim Hopbach, presented the draft accreditation rules developed by the project. As a final presentation of the event, the expert of the project presented online platform for facilitation of accreditation project. The event continued with question-and-answer format and managers of scientific organizations expressed their appreciation for activities carried out by the SAC for improvement of science.
