On 25 November 2024, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), under the EU-funded project “Bridging the Gap between Community Needs and Local Capacities and Capabilities of Civil Society Actors in Azerbaijan”, hosted a “Communications and Fundraising Skillshare” training session for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The session was conducted in partnership with the Meta Corporation.

The training comprised three main components: communications, fundraising, and the use of Meta platforms. The session opened with a speech by Alexander Mordovin, the National Society Development Delegate and acting IFRC Programme and Operations Manager in Azerbaijan.

Interactive sessions on fundraising and communications were led by Teymur Kuseba, Branch Development Senior Officer, and Vusal Safarli, Communications Officer. During these sessions participants actively explored strategies for designing impactful fundraising campaigns and improving communication with communities during crises.

The final segment, delivered by Meta’s country partners, Burak Karagol, Sezen Yeshil, and Naz Degirmenci, provided CSOs with in-depth insights into best practices for leveraging their social media accounts to engage their audiences, raise awareness on key issues, and carry out fundraising activities. Participants also learned to set up effective advertising campaigns and measure their impact through the platforms.

The session inspired participants to apply new approaches and tools, motivating them to amplify their efforts and create a meaningful impact in their communities.
