Lecture on “Energy Efficiency And Renewable Energies” at UFAZ
On October 11th, as part of the European Union’s #ForOurPlanet campaign, EU4Energy experts hold an event at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) on “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies.” The goal of this event is to provide students with in-depth information on topics such as energy sharing, energy communities, and energy transition processes.
The event opened with speeches by Khulya Sabirli, PR Manager (UFAZ), Nazrin Shrinova, Head of Strategic Partnership and Development (UFAZ), and Aleksandra Mihailova, International Aid and Cooperation Officer from the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan. They highlighted the importance of renewable energy for Azerbaijan’s future and the role of youth in advancing these efforts.
Harald Proidl, Director for Renewables and Energy Efficiency at Austria’s E-Control, presented Austria’s approach to energy communities and the use of smart meters for decentralizde energy sharing. He explained how Austria’s regulatory frameworks have enabled communities to produce and share renewable energy, enhancing energy independence.
Zviad Gachechiladze, from the Georgian State Electrosystem, discussed Georgia’s energy transition based on EU commitments and regulations. He highlighted Georgia’s progress in integrating hydropower and fostering regional energy cooperation to meet EU standards.
During the Q&A session, students actively engaged with the speakers, asking questions on renewable energy technologies and regional collaboration, further deepening their understanding of the energy transition process.
