Pre-departure orientation meeting for students that awarded the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship within the Erasmus+ programme

On 6 August 2021, the National Erasmus+ Office in Azerbaijan in cooperation with EU Delegation to Azerbaijan and Erasmus Alumni Association carried out a pre-departure orientation meeting for students that awarded the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship within the Erasmus+ programme.

The purpose of the event was to congratulate recipients of the Erasmus+ JMD scholarship in 2021, to learn about their expectations, and to provide them with informational support in the course of preparing to study abroad. The Head of Cooperation Section of EU Delegation Mr. Victor Bojkov congratulated the students and wished them good luck on behalf of the EU Delegation. Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Azerbaijan Mr. Parviz Baghirov made a presentation with an overview of Erasmus+ in Azerbaijan, pinpointing the most important achievements. The Ambassador of Austria to Azerbaijan His Excellency Alexander Bayerl has also welcomed the students and shared his own Erasmus+ experience. The PDO event followed with the members of Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association (Former Erasmus Mundus students) sharing their experience of studying in Europe from a professional, personal and practical angle and would also present the activities of the Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association, as well as Erasmus + graduates, sharing their experiences in studying and living in Europe. The event was finalized with a light lunch and refreshments, thus allowing the students to network among themselves in a more relaxed atmosphere. 

According to the results of 2021, a total of 31 scholarships has been awarded to Azerbaijani applicants. On average, each student receives a total scholarship grant of 40000 (forty thousand) Euros during the two years of their joint programme, to cover travel, accommodation, tuition, and other costs.
