The EU in Azerbaijan announces winners of press contest

Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan announces winners of the press contest related to the EU-Azerbaijan cooperation for Azerbaijani print, TV/radio and web media content.

The winners were chosen by a panel of jury comprising of Azerbaijani media professionals. According to the decision of the jury 5 winners were selected in 3 categories.

• Best story in printed or online media

Elena Kosolapova & Kelly Chaib De Mares (Azeri Observer Magazine)

Farman Nabiyev (mi-news.az)

Aydin Salimli (qaynarinfo.az)

• Best feature story on Radio  

Turbat Baghirova (“Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting” CJSC)

• Best online or print blog, opinion or column

Ismayil Fataliyev (mediaman.az)

The winners in each of five categories will receive a gift card of 500 AZN.

Entries were judged based on the following criteria: adherence to facts; depth of reporting; focus; fairness and balance; creativity and style, and impact.

The main goal of the contest was to raise public awareness about the EU activities and their impact on the daily lives of people in Azerbaijan. 

The competition was launched on February 18, 2021. Each work had to be written and published/broadcast/uploaded in Azerbaijani, English, or Russian languages. Citizens of Azerbaijan or international journalists accredited in Azerbaijan were eligible to participate.
