Almaz (name has been changed to protect privacy) is a resident of Dashkesan village, which is covered by the EU-funded “SEEDS” project. She was discriminated against and excluded from community life as a result of domestic violence, which resulted in psychological pressure and financial hardship. The project’s trainings and psychological consultations played an important role in Almaz’s personal development. As a result of her involvement in the project, Almaz gained self-confidence and set up a small business by developing skills in carpet weaving, which is part of our national heritage. She is now also actively involved in community activities and has set up a carpet-weaving group called “Harmony Created by Loops”. She is now financially independent and has leadership skills. Building every woman’s self-confidence is the first step towards building success.
