Surveys carried out by an EU-funded project have identified the need to improve agricultural advisory services in Azerbaijan and to build a strong mechanism for receiving inquires and feedback from target groups.

The preliminary results of the survey – carried out by the EU-funded ‘Strengthening of Agricultural Advisory Services’ project, implemented by the FAO – demonstrate the need to improve the links between public and private sectors and raise awareness of advisory services among farmers in particular in remotes areas.

The survey and assessment of agricultural advisory services began in June 2020, aiming to cover five districts in the country identified by the national authorities.

Due to the quarantine restrictions and limits on movements inside the country, assessment training, and interviews with volunteers, surveyors, and farmers were carried out through the online Zoom application and through dedicated WhatsApp groups.
