The project supports the Government of Azerbaijan (Ministry of Energy) to further develop the energy sector in line with the best European/international expertise and practices. The specific objective of this assignment is to assist the Ministry of Energy to develop a Long-Term Energy Strategy (LTES), which analyses various policy options and scenarios for energy sector development until 2050, based on a thorough assessment of the energy supply, demand trends and considering potential for renewables and energy efficiency.
Within the project, the following activities were performed:
• Review and assessment of all available data, including Strategic Road Maps, primary and secondary legislation, renewable energy potential, tariffs in the energy sector, Energy Balances, deliverables from previous relevant projects;
• Involvement of main stakeholders in LTES and the Ministry of Energy relevant Departments;
• Identification and analysis of the available options under each strategic direction and development of scenarios to be considered in the Long-Term Energy Strategy, under the deermination of goals and specific targets.

The specific objective is to assist the Ministry of Energy to develop a long-term energy
strategy, which analyses various policy options and scenarios for development until 2050

- Long-Term Energy Strategy for Azerbaijan, including Action Plan, strategic directions, objectives and targets, KPIs;
- Workshops and series of consultations with stakeholders on energy strategy.
