Partners in Empowerment
Project Description
The "Partners in Empowerment" project supports stronger, interconnected Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, helping them work together and draw on peer and international expertise to hold governments accountable by becoming effective watchdogs engaged in policymaking processes, and monitoring public services and government decisions.
Specific Objective
To provide organisational capacity assessments of local watchdog organisations and national CSOs monitoring policy implementation and budget transparency.
Expected Results
- Sub-grants to promote ‘learning by doing’ guided by more experienced CSOs. Each sub-grant is combined with mentoring; institutional twinning, external project evaluation and strategic development support, and online advice platform.
- Two sets of regional workshops designed around the projects: one on peer learning and coalition building, one on the accountability of public institutions.
