1. Strategic development plans of pilot VET centres are developed
The lack of a strategic vision of vocational centers for the key development challenges makes them difficult to respond professionally to changing market demands. Given this problem, in 2018 the ED VET project involved a contractor to develop Strategic Plans (SPs) for pilot VET centers. Thus, Strategic Development Plans have been developed based on the current situation of the pilot vocational centers and feedback collected through consultations with stakeholders.
Three Strategic Development Plans for three vocational centres were prepared and submitted to the State Agency for Vocational Education (SAVE) in June 2019. In addition to the Strategic Development Plans for the pilot schools, two business concepts (one agriculture related, another tourism) per each vocational centre were developed to support pilot vocational centres to generateextra-budgetary revenue. At the same time, a guideline on writing strategic development plan for vocational school üas developed and submitted to SAVE.
During the presentation held on June 20, 2019, Strategic Development Plans and a guideline were presented to the representatives of SAVE and pilot VET centers. Representatives of VET schools/centers from Baku, Mingachevir, Lankaran, Oguz, Barda and Jalilabad also attended the presentation to get acquainted with Strategic Development Plans.
